SW?D began in December 12, 2014. Through the years, the group has focused on numerous ways that it can support its beliefs. Be it supporting local vendors, increasing awareness on sustainability or exploring culture, SW?D has constantly made efforts to not only be proactive but also vocal about its efforts so non-members can also be benefited by these endeavors

In the academic year 2016 – 2017, SW?D organized numerous events and experienced a relatively active year as it picked up pace. This year experienced a culinary trip to Pune from 9 March to 11 March. There was also a Khoj to Kadalakai Parishe (26 November) and Maravanthe (27 January)

The year saw three daawats. One celebrating SW?D’s second anniversary, with Baldwin Wallace University, USA (12 December), another with students from the University of Gastronomic Sciences, Italy (23 February) and one with Ecole Hoteliere, Lavasa (27 February)

2 SW?D Forums were held. One with Dr Girija (12 November) and one with Mr Jason Grim from the University of IOWA (13 January)
